SHIRLEY JANE

Gannon & Benjamin built this 16’3” Whitehall rowing boat, Shirley Jane, in 2005. She rows smoothly and draws admiration wherever she goes. She was featured in the Wooden Boat Magazine Calendar shortly after her build. Tim & Amy have owned her since 2010.

She can be rowed solo or tandem. She includes two pairs of spruce Shaw & Tenney rowing oars and a galvanized trailer modified to properly support the hull.

Shirley Jane has been professionally maintained annually by Classic Sailboat Shop. Her seams were recently fully recaulked. The hull has been primed and painted with three coats of Interlux Bright White. The brightwork was stripped to bare wood and varnished with Epifanes. The bottom was stripped, primed, and painted with Sandusky Hard Bright Copper Bottom Paint. The seats were painted with Epifanes (white with a slight tan tint), and the inboard cedar planking received three fresh coats of Sutherland Wells Polymerized Tung Oil.

DESIGN: 24’ Fantail Launch

G&B HULL NO. 79; NAT BENJAMIN DESIGN NO. 94

TOAST

Designing and building TOAST came as a result of a friend who would borrow our workboat BAGUETTE from time to time to take a harbor tour. Impressed by her good looks and utility, he asked G&B to improve the design and build one for his family. TOAST has a few more bells and whistles than our well used work boat and is in excellent condition following a recent cosmetic update. TOAST is a lovely fan-tail launch for summer cruises, swimming, picnics, harbor tours, and relaxed coastal exploring. If you’re interested, reach out to gandb@gannonandbenjamin.com.
